Left exhaust manifold gaskets (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling

1. Put the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.



3. Remove the right and left upper heated oxygen sensor harness clamps (HO2S).



4. Remove the clamps that secure the harnesses of the right and left lower heated oxygen sensors (HO2S).

5. Move a hydraulic rack under the exhaust system.



6. Turn away 4 nuts of fastening of a forward rubber suspension bracket of system of release to a body.




7. Turn away 4 nuts of fastening of flanges of reception pipes to final collectors. Dispose of the nuts.

8. Use the hydraulic strut to lower the exhaust system.



9. Turn away 8 nuts of fastening of a final collector, remove a collector, utilize nuts and both linings.

Assembly

1. Wipe the mating surface of the exhaust manifold and downpipes and install new gaskets.

2. Lubricate exhaust manifold mounting studs with copper powder grease, install manifold, install 8 new manifold mounting nuts. Tighten them to 23 Nm.

3. Using a hydraulic stand, lift the exhaust system, put the exhaust pipe flange on the exhaust manifold studs.

4. Screw on 4 new nuts of fastening of receiving pipes to final collectors and tighten them with the moment of 45 Нм.


5. Screw 4 nuts securing the front rubber suspension to the body and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.

6. Lower the hydraulic strut.

7. Attach the right and left heated oxygen sensor harnesses (HO2S) on the middle heat shields and on the flywheel housing.

8. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
