Intermediate pipe (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling

1. Put the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.



3. Using tool LRT-99-027, cut the pipe at the location indicated by the indentation.



4. Turn away 4 nuts of fastening of a suspension bracket of the intermediate muffler to a body.

5. With the help of a partner, remove the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system.

6. Loosen and discard the 2 nuts securing the exhaust damper to the intermediate tube.

7. Remove the rubber pad.

Assembly

1. Install the rubber pad.

2. Install the shock absorber on the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system and secure it with two new nuts.

3. Wipe the exhaust pipe of the muffler and install the connecting sleeves.

4. With the help of a partner, install the intermediate pipe on the supports and screw on the nuts. Tighten the mounting nuts to the supports. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

5. Center the connecting sleeve, align the intermediate tube with the downpipes and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 Nm.

6. Center the connecting sleeve, align the intermediate pipe with the muffler outlet pipe, and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 Nm.

7. Check up correctness of provision of system of release of the fulfilled gases.

8. Attach "negative" battery terminal.

9. Start the engine. With the engine running, check the exhaust system for leaks (no breakthrough of exhaust gases).
