GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Dismantling
1. Put the car on a lift.
2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
3. Loosen the wire clamp of the upper oxygen sensor wire, remove the block from the mount and disconnect it.
4. Remove the wires of the lower heated oxygen sensors from the clamp, disconnect the block.
5. Unscrew and dispose of the 4 nuts securing the exhaust pipe flange to the exhaust manifold, disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold and set aside.
6. Remove and discard the 4 nuts securing the middle muffler suspension to the body.
7. Turn away 8 nuts of fastening of a back pillow of a suspension bracket of the muffler to a body and, by means of the partner, remove from the car exhaust system in gathering.
NOTE: If disassembly was carried out only to provide access to other elements of the system, then further disassembly operations should not be performed.
8. Turn away 2 nuts and remove an inertial shock-absorber.
9. Remove the 6 rubber pads from the main system assembly, remove the rubber pads from the system suspension points on the body.
10. Remove the downstream heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) from the exhaust system and discard the sealing washers.
Assembly
1. Install the inertial shock absorber and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
2. Establish into place pillows of a suspension bracket of system of release of the fulfilled gases.
3. Wipe the exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold flanges.
4. Wipe down heated oxygen sensor housings (HO2S), sealing washers and mating surfaces.
5. Install on oxygen sensors (HO2S) new sealing washers and lubricate the threads on the sensors with anti-seize lubricant. Screw in and tighten the sensors. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
CAUTION: Be careful not to get any anti-seize lubricant on the active part of the oxygen sensor (HO2S).
6. Install rubber pads on the system suspension points and on the main system assembly.
7. With the help of a partner, install the exhaust system on the car, align the flanges, lightly tighten the bolts and nuts. Attach the rear pair of muffler brackets to the body and lightly tighten the bolts.
8. Bring the remaining elements of the system fastening to the body, screw on the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
9. Check up correctness of provision of system of release of the fulfilled gases.
10. Align exhaust flanges and tighten new nuts evenly. Tightening torque 45 Nm.
11. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
12. Start the engine. With the engine running, check the exhaust system for leaks (no breakthrough of exhaust gases).
