Intermediate pipe (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling

1. Put the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.



3. Using tool LRT-99-027, cut the pipe at the location indicated by the indentation.



4. Remove and discard the 2 nuts and 2 bolts securing the downpipe to the intermediate pipe flange.



5. Turn away a nut of fastening of an intermediate suspension bracket of system of release to a body.


6. Remove an intermediate pipe of system of release.

7. Remove the rubber pad.

Assembly

1. Install the rubber pad.

2. Wipe the muffler outlet pipe and install the bushing.

3. With the help of a partner, install the intermediate tube, align the suspension with the attachment points and tighten the attachment nut. Tightening torque 68 Nm.

4. Center the connecting sleeve, align the intermediate pipe with the muffler outlet pipe, and tighten the sleeve clamp nuts. Tightening torque 48 Nm.

5. Align the intermediate pipe with the receiving pipe, fit the bolts and nuts and tighten them. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

6. Check up correctness of provision of system of release of the fulfilled gases.

7. Attach "negative" battery terminal.

8. Start the engine. With the engine running, check the exhaust system for leaks (no breakthrough of exhaust gases).
