Intake manifold gaskets (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the air receiver.

HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.

3. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.

ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORKS, Soundproofing engine cover.

4. Disconnect the connector from the boost pressure sensor.

5. Turn away a bolt of an arm of fastening of a vacuum tube to an inlet collector.

6. Remove the fuel pressure sensor harness grommet from the intake manifold.



7. Loosen the clamp "positive" intake manifold wires.


8. Turn away a bolt of fastening of an arm of an oil probe to an inlet collector.



9. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air hose from the EGR valve (EGR). Remove and discard clamp.

CAUTION: Always plug fittings and openings to keep dirt out of the system.

10. Move aside the air inlet hose.

11. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve (EGR).

12. Loosen the screw and remove the clamp that secures the tube of the exhaust gas recirculation system to the system valve (EGR).



13. Remove the rubber plugs from the intake manifold.



14. Turn away 12 bolts and 7 nuts of fastening of an inlet collector.


15. Remove the intake manifold and discard its gaskets.

16. Close inlet channels of a head of cylinders.

Assembly

1. Remove the plugs from the intake ports of the cylinder head.

2. Wipe the intake manifold and mating surface.

3. Wipe the flange of the EGR tube and its connection to the EGR valve.

4. Install new gaskets on the intake manifold.

5. Establish an inlet collector, establish on bolts brackets of fastening of a noise-insulating casing. Tighten bolts and nuts evenly. Bolt tightening torque 10 Nm, nuts 15 Nm.

6. Install rubber plugs.

7. Attach the fuel pressure sensor harness to the intake manifold.

8. Connect the connector to the boost pressure sensor.

9. Screw in a bolt of fastening of an arm of a vacuum tube and tighten it. Tightening torque 6 Nm.

10. Screw in a bolt of fastening of an arm of an oil dipstick and tighten it. Tightening torque 6 Nm.

11. Install the positive wire clamp on the intake manifold.

12. Put on a collar of fastening of a tube of system EGR and tighten the screw.

13. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.

14. Wipe the pipe on the valve of the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and the counterpart of the intake hose.

15. Using a new clamp, secure the air inlet hose to the EGR valve. Clamp tightening torque 6 Nm.

16. After waiting 10 minutes, re-tighten the clamp securing the air hose to the valve. Tightening torque 6 Nm.

17. Reinstall the acoustic cover.

18. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
