GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing cover.
3. Remove the air tube.
HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.
4. Remove the right cover of ignition coils.
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Right row ignition coil cover.
5. Loosen the nut and remove the wire "masses" from the valve cover.
6. Disconnect blocks from ignition coils.
7. Turn away 7 nuts of fastening of coils of ignition to a valvate cover. Remove 4 ignition coils.
8. Dispose of the ignition coil cover gasket.
9. Remove the dipstick tube.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Oil dipstick tube.
10. Turn away 6 nuts and 3 bolts of fastening of a valvate cover to a head of cylinders. Remove valve cover, discard 2 gaskets and 11 seal washers.
Assembly
1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the valve cover and cylinder head.
2. Apply STC 50550 sealant to the areas shown in the illustration.
3. Using 2 new gaskets and 11 sealing washers, install the valve cover on the cylinder head.
4. Insert the dipstick tube.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Oil dipstick tube.
5. Install 6 nuts and 3 valve cover bolts and tighten them in sequence shown. Tightening torque 10 Nm.
6. Insert 4 ignition coils.
7. Screw on 7 nuts of fastening of coils of ignition to a valvate cover and tighten them. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
8. Install a new ignition coil cover gasket.
9. Put the connectors on the ignition coils.
10. Put on the wire "masses" on the valve cover and tighten the nut. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
11. Establish the right cover of coils of ignition.
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Right row ignition coil cover.
12. Replace the air tube.
HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.
13. Reinstall the engine soundproof cover.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing cover.
14. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
