GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing cover.
3. Remove the air tube.
HEATING AND VENTILATION, REPAIR WORKS, Air intake box.
4. Relieve residual pressure in the fuel supply system.
V8 FUEL SUPPLY, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE, Relief Pressure Relief.
5. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail.
CAUTION: Always plug fittings and openings to keep dirt out of the system.
6. Unfasten the 2 clamps that secure the battery wire to the soundproof casing brackets.
7. Release the heater pump from the supporting rubber pads and take it aside.
8. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the valve cover.
9. Remove the left cover of ignition coils.
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Left row ignition coil cover.
10. Loosen the nut and remove the wire "masses" from the valve cover.
11. Disconnect blocks from ignition coils.
12. Turn away 7 nuts of fastening of coils of ignition to a valvate cover. Remove 4 ignition coils.
13. Dispose of the ignition coil cover gasket.
14. Turn away 8 nuts and 3 bolts of fastening of a valvate cover to a head of cylinders. Remove valve cover, discard 2 gaskets and 11 seal washers.
Assembly
1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the valve cover and cylinder head.
2. Apply STC 50550 sealant to the areas shown in the illustration.
3. Using 2 new gaskets and 11 sealing washers, install the valve cover on the cylinder head.
4. Install 8 nuts and 3 valve cover bolts and tighten them in sequence shown. Tightening torque 10 Nm.
5. Insert 4 ignition coils.
6. Screw on 7 nuts of fastening of coils of ignition to a valvate cover and tighten them. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
7. Put connectors on ignition coils.
8. Put on the wire "masses" on the valve cover and tighten the nut. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
9. Install a new ignition coil cover gasket.
10. Establish the left cover of coils of ignition.
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Left row ignition coil cover.
11. Attach the crankcase ventilation hose and tighten the clamp.
12. Attach the heater pump to the rubber pads.
13. Fasten the 2 battery wire clamps to the soundproof casing brackets.
14. Connect the fuel hose quick connector to the fuel rail.
15. Replace the air tube.

16. Reinstall the engine soundproof cover.

17. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
