Bulkhead of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft (Range Rover 3)

Disassembly

1. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

V8 Engine, ENGINE OVERHAUL, Crankshaft Pulley.

2. Attach stopper LRT-12-229 to crankshaft hub.

3. With the help of a partner, unscrew the pulley mounting bolt.

4. Remove stopper LRT-12-229 from crankshaft hub.

5. Remove the crankshaft hub.



6. Install the LRT-12-230/1 puller and the LRT-12-230/2 stop and remove the front oil seal.

7. Dispose of the stuffing box.

Assembly

1. Wipe the gland seats.



2. Insert the oil seal into the front cover using the LRT-12-231 tool.

NOTE: The front seal must be flush with the front cover.

3. Remove mandrel LRT-12-231.

4. Wipe the crankshaft pulley hub and seating surfaces, install the hub on the crankshaft.

5. Screw a new central bolt into the crankshaft, fix the crankshaft with a stopper LRT-12-229, pre-tighten the central bolt to 100 Nm. Using a goniometer torque wrench, tighten the bolt in the sequence shown below.

• Stage 1: 60°
• Stage 2: 60°
• Stage 3: 30°

6. Remove stopper LRT-12-229 from crankshaft hub.

7. Install the crankshaft pulley.
