GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Dismantling
1. Put the car on a lift.
2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
3. Remove the cooling system pump.
COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Coolant pump gasket.
4. Remove the top front timing cover on the left head.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Upper front timing cover of the left cylinder head.
5. Remove the top front timing cover on the right head.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Upper front timing cover of the right cylinder head.
6. Take out a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Front crankshaft oil seal.
7. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of a tensioner of a belt of a drive of the hinged equipment to the bottom cover of the timing mechanism.
8. Remove the dirt cover from the belt roller and unscrew the Torx bolt securing the belt roller.
9. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.
10. Turn away a nut and disconnect a wire of the storage battery from the generator.
11. Disconnect the battery cable from the lower timing cover.
12. Turn away 6 bolts of fastening of the generator and a clip of a generator plait.
13. Remove the alternator from the lower timing cover.
14. Dispose of the generator O-ring.
15. Turn away 2 bolts and 1 nut of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster and take the pump aside.
16. Remove the 6 bolts securing the lower timing cover to the top of the oil pan.
17. Turn away 15 bolts of fastening of the bottom cover of a drive of GRM to the block of cylinders.

- H = M6 X 60 mm
NOTE: Note the position of all mounting bolts.
18. Remove the lower front cover of the timing mechanism drive.
19. Dispose of the 3 lower timing cover gaskets.
Assembly
1. Wipe the timing cover and mating surface, pins and pin sockets.
2. Apply STC 50550 sealant to the areas shown in the illustration.
3. Install 3 new gaskets for the lower timing cover.
4. Install the lower front timing cover.
5. Screw in 15 bolts securing the lower timing cover to the cylinder block and pre-tighten them to 5 Nm.
6. Tighten the M6 bolts securing the bottom cover to 10 Nm, and the M8 bolts to 22 Nm.
CAUTION: After tightening all bolts, check their torque.
7. Screw 6 bolts securing the lower timing cover to the top of the oil pan and tighten them to 12 Nm.
8. Install the power steering pump on the bracket, screw the mounting bolts and screw the nut. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm and the nut to 25 Nm.
9. Wipe the mating surfaces of the generator and the timing cover.
10. Lubricate the new O-ring and install it on the generator.
11. Establish the generator and tighten bolts of fastening.
12. Attach the battery cable to the lower timing cover.
13. Attach a wire of the storage battery to the generator and tighten a nut of fastening of a wire the moment of 13 Нм.
14. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner, screw in the parasitic roller mounting bolt and tighten it.
15. Place a dust cap on the parasitic tensioner roller.
16. Screw in the 2 bolts securing the accessory belt tensioner to the lower timing cover, but do not tighten them yet.
17. Establish a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Front crankshaft oil seal.
18. Establish the top forward cover of a drive of the mechanism timing on the right head of cylinders.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Upper front timing cover of the right cylinder head.
19. Establish the top forward cover of a drive of the mechanism timing on the left head of cylinders.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Upper front timing cover of the left cylinder head.
20. Install the coolant pump.
COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Coolant pump gasket.
21. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
