GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Removing
1. Put the car on a lift.
2. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
3. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Crankshaft pulley.
4. Attach stopper LRT-12-229 to crankshaft hub.
5. Rest stopper LRT-12-229 in a stretcher and turn away the central bolt.
6. Remove stopper LRT-12-229 from crankshaft hub.
7. Remove the crankshaft hub.
8. Install the LRT-12-230/1 puller and the LRT-12-230/2 stop and remove the front oil seal.
9. Dispose of the stuffing box.
Installation
1. Wipe the gland seat.
2. Insert the oil seal into the front cover using the LRT-12-231 tool.
NOTE: The front seal must be flush with the front cover.
3. Remove mandrel LRT-12-231.
4. Wipe the crankshaft pulley hub and seating surfaces, install the hub on the crankshaft.
5. Screw a new central bolt into the crankshaft, fix the crankshaft with a stopper LRT-12-229, pre-tighten the central bolt to 100 Nm. Using a goniometer torque wrench, tighten the bolt in the sequence shown below.
- Stage 1: 60°.
- Stage 2: 60°.
- Stage 3: 30°.
6. Remove stopper LRT-12-229 from crankshaft hub.
7. Install the crankshaft pulley.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORKS, Crankshaft pulley.
8. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
