Oil pump overhaul (Range Rover 3)

Removing

1. Remove the oil pickup tube.

ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORKS, Oil pickup tube with strainer.

Disassembly

1. Turn away 4 bolts of fastening of the oil pump to the block of cylinders.

2. Remove the oil pump from the dowel pins, remove the oil pump drive chain from the drive sprocket, and remove the oil pump.



3. Fix the oil pump drive sprocket in a vice with soft jaws and unscrew the bolt securing the sprocket to the pump. Remove the sprocket from the pump.

Examination

1. Wipe the drive sprocket and mating surface on the oil pump shaft.

Assembly

1. Install the drive sprocket on the oil pump and screw in its fastening bolt.

2. Secure the drive sprocket in a soft jaw vise and tighten its fastening bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

3. Put the chain on the sprocket and install the oil pump on the pins. Tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

Installation

1. Install the oil pickup tube.
