Soundproof engine cover (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the precautions prescribed for this procedure have been taken.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removing

1. Disconnect "negative" battery wire.

2. Remove the top engine cover.

ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.

3. Turn away bolts of fastening of a noise-insulating casing, release a latch and remove a casing.

NOTE: No further disassembly is necessary if the cover has been removed for access only.

4. Disconnect the 5 clips that secure the soundproofing padding to the casing.

Installation

1. Clip the packing to the casing.

2. Install the soundproofing casing in place and tighten it with bolts. Tightening torque 5 Nm.

3. Install the engine top cover.

ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.

4. Attach "negative" wire to the battery.
