Catalytic converter (Range Rover 3)

Please read the section carefully before disconnecting the battery "Disconnecting the battery" and follow all the instructions there.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removing

1. Place the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect "mass" battery wire.

3. Remove the exhaust system.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST GAS SYSTEM: V-8 engine, REPAIRS, Exhaust system and system components suspension.

4. Remove heated oxygen sensors. Dispose of the old sensor O-rings.



5. Using tool LRT-99-027, cut the exhaust pipe at the location indicated by the punch groove. Remove the front part of the exhaust system.

Installation

1. Install new O-rings on heated oxygen sensors. Coat the threads of the sensors with non-stick paste. Reinstall the heated oxygen sensor and tighten to 50 Nm.

CAUTION: The non-stick paste must not come into contact with the sensing element of the sensor.

2. Clean the mating surfaces of the front of the exhaust system.

3. Establish a forward part of final system and fix nuts of fastening of a flange. Do not completely tighten the nuts.


4. Clean the mating surfaces of the pipes of the front and intermediate parts of the exhaust system. Install the connecting sleeve.

5. Install the exhaust system.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST GAS SYSTEM: V-8 engine, REPAIRS, Exhaust system and system components suspension.

6. Symmetrically position the sleeve-clamp relative to the connection point, align the pipes of the front and intermediate parts of the exhaust system and tighten the nuts of the sleeve-clamp to 48 Nm.

7. Be convinced of correct installation of final system.

8. Connect "mass" battery wire.
