GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Removing
1. Disconnect "mass" battery wire.
2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.
ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORKS, Soundproofing engine cover.
3. Loosen the clamp on the air hose between the charge air cooler and the EGR valve and disconnect the air hose from the valve. Remove and discard the air hose clamp.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
5. Loosen the screw and remove the clamp securing the exhaust gas line to the EGR valve.
CAUTION: Plug open pipe ends immediately after disconnection to prevent foreign particles from entering the system.
6. Turn away 4 bolts of fastening of the EGR valve and remove the valve. Remove and discard the old EGR valve seal.
Installation
1. Clean mating surfaces of exhaust pipe and EGR valve.
2. Install a new EGR valve seal in the intake manifold bore.
3. Install the EGR valve and tighten the mounting bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).
4. Fix the pipeline of giving of the fulfilled gases with a clip.
5. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
6. Clean the mating surfaces of the EGR valve and air hose from the charge air cooler to the EGR valve.
7. Secure the air hose to the EGR valve fitting with a new clamp. Tighten the clamp screw to 6 Nm (4.4 lb ft)
8. Wait 10 minutes and re-tighten the clamp screw to 6 Nm (4.4 lb ft).
9. Replace the engine soundproof cover.
