GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.
Removing
1. Disconnect "mass" battery wire.
2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.
ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.
3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the hose from the vacuum pump.
CAUTION: Plug open pipe ends immediately after disconnection to prevent foreign particles from entering the system.
4. Prepare a suitable container to drain some of the coolant.
5. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the hose from the EGR thermostatic valve.
6. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of the thermostatic EGR valve and remove the valve. Remove and discard the old thermostatic valve O-ring.
CAUTION: Plug open pipe ends immediately after disconnection to prevent foreign particles from entering the system.
Installation
1. Clean the mating surfaces of the thermostatic valve.
2. Install a new thermostatic valve o-ring.
3. Install the EGR thermostatic valve and tighten the mounting bolts to 10 Nm.
4. Put the hose on the vacuum pump fitting and secure with a clamp.
5. Push the coolant hose onto the EGR thermostatic valve fitting and secure with a hose clamp.
6. Replace the engine soundproof cover.
ENGINE TD6, REPAIR WORK, Upper engine cover.
7. Connect "mass" battery wire.
8. Add coolant to the cooling system.
COOLING SYSTEM: Td6, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE, Coolant drain, system flush and fill.
