Knock sensor (KS) left (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the tubes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Pipes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.

3. Turn away two bolts of fastening of the gauge of a detonation (KS) to the cylinder block and remove the sensor.

Assembly

1. Wipe the knock sensor (KS) and reciprocal mating surfaces on the cylinder block.

2. Install knock sensor (KS) on the cylinder block, screw in the sensor mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 20 Nm.

3. Install the pipes connecting the coolant pump to the distribution pipe.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Pipes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.

4. Attach "negative" battery terminal.

5. If a new sensor has been installed, reconfigure the control system using the TestBook/T4.
