Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Left Cylinder Head (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.

V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing cover.

3. Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position sensor (CMP).

4. Release the sensor harness from the clip on the valve cover.



5. Turn away a bolt of fastening of the sensor of position of a cam-shaft (CMP) and remove the sensor. Dispose of the O-ring.

Assembly

1. Wipe the camshaft position sensor (CMP) and mating surfaces.


2. Install on the camshaft position sensor (CMP) new o-ring.

3. Install the camshaft position sensor (CMP), screw in the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.

4. Connect the connector to the camshaft position sensor (CMP).

5. Attach the sensor harness (CMP) in the clip on the valve cover.

6. Replace the engine soundproof cover.

V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing cover.

7. Attach "negative" battery terminal.

8. If a new sensor has been installed, reconfigure the control system using the TestBook/T4.
