Starter lock switch (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative plug from the storage battery.

2. Remove the air tube.

3. Disconnect the shoe from the lock switch connector.

4. Remove the screw securing the interlock switch connector retainer and release the wires from the gearbox.

5. Remove the gearbox crankcase ventilation hose.

6. Raise the vehicle on a lift.



7. Release the switch wires from the retainers and place them aside.


8. Turn away a nut of fastening of the selector lever to the blocking switch and release the selector lever.

9. Turn out two screws of fastening of a guard of the switch of blocking and remove a guard.



10. Turn out two screws of fastening of the switch of blocking to a transmission and remove the switch.

Assembly

1. Clean the lockout switch and transmission mating surface.

2. Install the circuit breaker, tighten the fastening screws and tighten them with a torque of 10 Nm.

3. Install and secure the wires of the interlock switch and attach the connector block.

4. Install the switch wire retainer, tighten the screw and tighten it with a torque of 10 Nm.

5. Install the blocking switch shield, tighten the fastening screws and tighten them with a torque of 10 Nm.

6. Connect the selector lever to the lock switch, tighten the nut and tighten it to 10 Nm.

7. Lower the car.

8. Attach a ventilating hose to a transmission.

9. Replace the air tube.

10. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
