Rear Extension Crankcase Seal (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the transfer case.

TRANSFER BOX, REPAIRS, Transfer case - Td6.

2. Remove the 7 screws securing the rear extension housing to the gearbox.

3. Remove the extension housing and discard the gasket.

4. Remove the seal from the rear extension housing.

Assembly

1. Wipe the seal groove.



2. Using tool LRT-44-029, install a new seal into the rear extension housing.

3. Clean crankcase and mating surfaces.

4. Install the rear extension housing seal.

5. Install the seal protector supplied with the seal on the shaft end.

6. Install the rear extension housing, tighten the screws and tighten them with a torque of 10 Nm.

7. Install the transfer case.
