Torque converter seal (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the automatic transmission assembly.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GM 5L40-E, REPAIR WORKS, Automatic transmission complete with transfer case - removal and installation.

2. Remove the torque converter fixing plate.



3. Install the LRT-44-010 pullers on the torque converter and separate the torque converter from the automatic transmission.



4. Turn out two screws of fastening of consolidation of a shaft of the hydrotransformer.

5. Carefully remove and discard the converter shaft seal.

Assembly

1. Wipe the groove in the gearbox housing under the torque converter shaft seal. Lubricate the torque converter shaft seal with fresh fluid.

2. Carefully install the seal in the automatic transmission housing, fasten and tighten the mounting screws with a torque of 3 Nm.

3. Install the torque converter on the automatic transmission, making sure that the torque converter is fully aligned with the fluid pump drive.

4. Remove the LRT-44-010 pullers from the torque converter.

5. Install the torque converter fixing plate and secure with screws.

6. Reinstall the automatic transmission assembly.
