Location and locations of unit identification numbers (Range Rover 3)

Engine number

Engine - Td6

The engine number Td6 is stamped on the left side of the cylinder block.


Engine - V8

The V8 engine number is stamped on the upper side of the front of the cylinder block, under the throttle body.

Automatic transmission - Td6

The GM automatic transmission serial number is located on a plate affixed to the left side of the crankcase.

Automatic transmission - V8

The serial number of the ZF automatic transmission is stamped on a plate affixed to the left side of the gearbox housing.

Transfer case

The serial number of a New Venture Gears transfer case is etched onto the body boss located at the rear above the drain plug.

Body color designation

(US, Canada and Gulf of Mexico only)

The designation of the body color is applied on the left front wheel arch.

NOTE: Only the color designation is applied on the plate. The designation of the code of the painting material is not applied.
