General remarks
Always replace the locking devices with absolutely identical ones.
Retractable tab washers
Always replace the flap washers with new ones when reassembling. Do not reuse these lock washers.
Lock nuts
Always use two wrenches when loosening or tightening lock nuts, brake nuts and fuel pipes.
Cylindrical pins
When replacing the pin, the new pin must be matched to the diameter of the mating hole in the part.
Retaining rings
When installing new circlips, match them to the groove size.
Keys and keyways
Clean the edges of the keyway from burrs with a file with a fine notch. Thoroughly clean the keyway before reinstalling the key.
Clean and inspect the key. The key is suitable for reinstallation only if it is indistinguishable from a new one. Any defects indicate the beginning of wear.
Lock pins
When installing new cotter pins, select them according to the size of the hole in the bolt or stud.
