Checking and restoring the level of the working fluid
1. Put the car on a lift.
2. Apply the parking brake and place chocks under the front and rear wheels.
3. Attach the TestBook/T4 diagnostic tool to measure the fluid temperature.
WARNING: The fluid level can only be checked when the fluid temperature is between 35°and 45°. If the temperature is outside the specified range, the level reading will be incorrect.
4. Start the engine and move the selector lever from the position "R" to other positions, lingering in each position for 2-3 seconds. Return the selector lever to position "R".
5. Clean the area around the fill/check plug.
6. With the engine running, remove the fill/level plug and allow excess fluid to drain.
CAUTION: Be careful when draining fluid, which can be very hot.
7. If no fluid comes out of the filler hole without stopping the engine, add the recommended fluid to the box until a gentle stream comes out of the filler hole.
CAUTION: Avoid prolonged hand skin contact with mineral working fluid. The mineral working fluid washes away natural oils from the skin, leading to dry skin, irritation and dermatitis.
8. Move the selector lever again from the position "R" to each next position and returning to the position "R", drain excess hydraulic fluid.
9. Install a new filler/level plug and tighten to 20 Nm.
10. Disconnect the TestBook/T4 diagnostic tool.
