Accumulator battery (Range Rover 3)

Please read the section carefully before disconnecting the battery "Disconnecting the battery" and follow all the instructions there.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removing

1. Open the hood.

2. V8 vehicles only: Disconnect "mass" battery wire.

3. Release from a collar a tube of a washer of a windshield and a plait of wires of heated nozzles.

4. Secure the hood of the car in the position provided for maintenance.



5. Disconnect both terminals on the battery, first "negative" terminal.



6. Remove the battery holder.

7. Turn away a nut of fastening of a negative wire from the car case and remove a wire from a hairpin.

8. Remove the battery.

Installation

1. Clean the battery tray.

2. Install the battery, align the battery mount and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

3. Install "mass" wire on the fastening stud, tighten the nut with a torque of 25 Nm.

4. Attach the gas struts to the car body.

5.V8 engine models only: Connect the terminal "mass" to the hood and tighten the nut with a torque of 6 Nm.

6. Clamp the heated washer jet harness and washer tube.

7. Apply petroleum jelly to both battery terminals, install and tighten the terminal bolts. "Mass" the wire should be connected last.

CAUTION: After connecting the battery, turn the steering wheel alternately to the extreme left and extreme right positions. In this case, the engine must be running. This allows the dynamic stabilization system (DSC) update the steering wheel position data. Failure to perform this procedure will result in various indicators and warning lights on the instrument panel illuminating.
