TD6 engine generator (Range Rover 3)

Please read the section carefully before disconnecting the battery "Disconnecting the battery" and follow all the instructions there.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removing

1. Disconnect "mass" battery wire.

2. Remove the implement drive belt.

ENGINE START AND BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Attachment drive belt - Td6 engine.

3. Turn away 4 bolts of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster to an arm, release the pump and tie up aside.



4. Remove the hex head bolt that secures the top idler pulley of the attachment drive belt. Remove the roller.



5. Turn away a nut of fastening of a wire to the generator, release a wire and take aside.


6. Disconnect the block with the electric cable.



7. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of the generator to an arm, remove the generator together with an arm for fastening of rollers.

Installation

1. Install the generator on the mounting bracket.

2. Install the idler pulley bracket on the generator and tighten the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts with a torque of 45 Nm.

3. Attach the cable block.

4. Attach a wire from the storage battery to the generator, screw on a nut and tighten it with the moment of 13 Нм.

5. Install the upper tension roller of the drive belt, fit the bolt and tighten it with a torque of 25 Nm.

6. Install the power steering pump in place and tighten the mounting bolts. Tighten the M8 bolts to 25 Nm and the M6 bolts to 10 Nm.

7. Install implement drive belt.

8. Attach "mass" battery wire.
