TD6 Attachment Drive Belt Tensioner (Range Rover 3)

Please read the section carefully before disconnecting the battery "Disconnecting the battery" and follow all the instructions there.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Withdrawal
1. Disconnect "mass" battery wire.

2. Remove the implement drive belt.

ENGINE START AND BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Attachment drive belt - Td6 engine.

3. Remove the generator.

SYSTEM OF STARTING THE ENGINE AND CHARGING THE BATTERY, REPAIR WORKS, Generator - engine Td6.

4. Loosen the Allen type bolt that secures the attachment drive belt pulley and remove the pulley.



5. Remove the nut securing the attachment belt tensioner arm to the rear end of the spring mechanism housing.


6. Remove the tensioner arm.



7. Remove and discard the tensioner arm seal.

8. Remove the 2 bolts securing the attachment drive belt tensioner to the lower timing cover.

9. Remove the tensioner.

Installation

1. Clean tensioner block and mount.

2. Install the tensioner block. Temporarily install the tensioner arm to align the spring block with the timing cover. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm. Remove the tensioner lever.

3. Clean the seat for the tensioner arm seal in the timing cover and install a new seal.

4. Secure the attachment belt tensioner to the timing cover properly. Install a new nut and tighten it to 10 Nm.

5. Install the generator.

SYSTEM OF STARTING THE ENGINE AND CHARGING THE BATTERY, REPAIR WORKS, Generator - engine Td6.

6. Install the parasitic roller on the mounting bracket and tighten the hexagon socket bolt to 25 Nm.

7. Install implement drive belt.

ENGINE START AND BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORK, Attachment drive belt - Td6 engine.

8. Attach "mass" battery wire.
