Compressor drive belt — TD6 engine (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all the requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower engine protection.

3. Using a 16mm wrench, turn the tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt from the compressor pulley.

4. Remove the compressor drive belt.

Assembly

1. Make sure the transmission pulleys are not damaged or dirty.

2. Put the belt on the crankshaft pulley, remove the tensioner and, holding it, put the belt on the compressor pulley. Release the tensioner and check that the belt is correctly positioned on the pulleys.

3. Replace the motor guard.

4. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
