Dismantling
1. Remove the drive shaft.
DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORKS, Drive shaft - rear.
2. Place the drive shaft in a vise.
3. Remove and discard both straps securing the protective boot.
4. Slide the protective boot over the shaft to access the pivot.
5. With the help of a barb acting on the inside of the hinge, remove the hinge from the shaft.
6. Remove and discard the driveshaft circlip.
7. Remove the protective cover from the shaft.
Assembly
1. Wipe the drive shaft.
2. Install the protective cover.
3. Install a new retaining ring on the end of the drive shaft.
4. Install the outer constant velocity joint on the shaft, use a screwdriver to insert the retaining ring into the groove of the joint and slide the joint completely onto the shaft.
5. Lubricate the hinge with grease from the tube.
6. Put on a protective cover on the hinge and fix it on the hinge and a shaft new collars.
7. Reinstall the drive shaft.
