Draining and filling the rear differential case (Range Rover 3)

Drain

1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Install a container to collect the oil.

3. Wipe the area around the crankcase drain and filler plugs.



4. Remove the drain plug, discard the O-ring and let the oil drain.

Filling

1. Clean the drain plug, install a new O-ring and tighten the plug to 65 Nm.



2. Remove the fill/level plug and remove the O-ring.

3. Fill the final drive case with fresh recommended oil until a thin stream of oil emerges from the filler/inspection hole. Wait for the oil level to settle.

FILLING CAPACITIES, USED OPERATING LIQUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.

4. Install a new O-ring and tighten the filler/control plug to 65 Nm.

5. Lower the car on the lift.
