Electric seat back adjustment (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the seat assembly.

SEATS, REPAIRS, Front seat.

2. Remove the Allen screw securing the armrest.

3. Remove the armrest from the hinge ledge.

4. Remove the head restraint.



5. Release the 3 seat back panel tensioner straps under the seat.



6. Release the brackets securing the backrest upholstery to the bottom of the backrest panel.




7. Release the edges of the upholstery on both sides of the seat back panel.

8. Remove the 2 pins securing the bottom of the back panel.

9. Separate the backrest panel from the seat.



10. Disconnect blocks from sockets of electric motors of adjustment of a head restraint and the top pillow of a back.



11. Disconnect the lumbar support cable connector from the pump and spool.


12. Disconnect the block from the seat heater connector.



13. Release the backrest wiring harness from the 4 clips.



14. Remove the 2 Torx screws and remove the backrest frame from the seat frame.



15. Remove the 2 retaining clips securing the drive assembly.

16. Carefully remove the drive assembly from the mounting stops. Disconnect the drive cable from the drive assembly.

Assembly

1. Attach the drive cable to the motor drive assembly.

2. Carefully place the drive assembly on the mounting stops.

3. Install the 2 drive unit retaining brackets.

4. Align the backrest frame with the seat frame, install the Torx screws and tighten to 25 Nm.

5. Install the backrest harness and secure it to the retainers.

6. Attach the cable lugs to the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motor connectors.

7. Connect the block to the seat heater connector.

8. Attach the lumbar support cable lugs to the pump and spool.

9. Install the back panel to the seat assembly and install the back panel bottom mounting pins.

10. Fasten both ends of the seat cushion upholstery to the back panel.

11. Fasten the lower part of the upholstery with brackets to the back panel.

12. Attach the tension straps of the backrest panel to the latches on the bottom of the seat.

13. Install the armrest on the hinge and tighten the Allen screw to 25 Nm.

14. Install the seat in the car.
