Power transmission unit (automatic transmission) (Freelander 2)

Removing

1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Remove the drive shaft. Refer to procedure: Driveshaft - Vehicle not included: Diesel Fuel Filter (205-01 Cardan shaft, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Procedure: Catalytic Converter - Vehicle Not Included: Diesel Fuel Filter (309-00B Exhaust system - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

4. Remove the lower engine stabilizer bar. Refer to Procedure: Engine Lower Mount Insulator (303-01A Engine - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).

5. Remove the right half shaft. Refer to Procedure: Right Axis (205-04 Front drive axle, Removal and installation).



7. Tightening torque: 25 Nm



8. Tightening torque: 10 Nm




9. Tightening torque: 65 Nm





11. Tightening torque: 60 Nm

NOTE: This operation is performed with an assistant.

12. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

Installation

1. See specifications section for fluid specifications.

CAUTION: Clean the element of dirt, grease and foreign matter.

NOTE: Apply the required amount of grease to specification.

2. Install the elements in the reverse order of disassembly.
