The instrument panel receives information panel data from the ECM via the CJB on the medium speed CAN bus (data transfer protocol). The CJB generates this information based on medium and high speed CAN bus inputs and wired inputs from various vehicle control modules. The software embedded in the instrument panel converts the data from the CJB into on-screen messages for the driver.
