Starter control module (Freelander 2)

Removing

1. Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, check the launch control module and upload the saved data.

NOTE: This step must be performed if the launch control module has been replaced.

NOTE: When performing this procedure, have all keys ready (remote controls).

2. Secure the SRS system. Refer to Procedure: Standard Techniques Used in a Service Station (100-00 General information, Description and principle of operation).

3. Remove the driver's lower airbag. Refer to procedure: Driver's lower airbag module (501-20B Secondary restraint system, Removal and installation).

4. Remove the decorative cover of the launch control box.



5. Remove a frame of a guard of devices.



6. Remove the lower casing of a steering column.



7. Bring the steering column to the lowest position.





9. Remove the launch control unit.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
