Draining and refilling engine oil (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The description of the removal procedure may contain a description of the installation steps.

1. Raise the vehicle.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.

2. Remove the motor protection. Refer to procedure: Motor protection (501-02 Front body panels, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the oil filter. Refer to procedure: Oil filter element replacement (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

4. Tightening torque: 20 Nm

WARNING: Avoid skin contact with operating fluids whenever possible.

The liquid has a high temperature. Possible fluid leakage.

5. Remove and discard sealing washer.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Clean the element of dirt and grease. Use new seals.

7. Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
