Camshafts (Freelander 2)

Removing

1. Remove the cover and disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).

2. Raise the car.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

3. Remove the valve cover. Refer to Procedure: Cylinder Head Cover (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

Installation

1. Install camshafts with timing chain and tensioner. Align the timing chain links with the marks on the camshaft sprocket as shown.

Clean mating surfaces of foreign material. Lubricate the bearing surfaces with clean engine oil.

2. Tighten the tensioner bolts. Tightening torque: 7 Nm

3. Install the valve cover. Refer to Procedure: Cylinder Head Cover (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

4. Connect a weight wire to the accumulator and establish a cover. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).
