Four piezoelectrically actuated fuel injectors are centrally mounted above the combustion chambers of each cylinder. Each nozzle is sealed at the base of the channel with a copper washer. A centering ring mounted on top of the nozzle body ensures the correct positioning of the nozzle in the bore.
NOTE: Each time the injector is removed from the cylinder head, install a new copper washer and discard the old washer. When removing the nozzle, the centering ring can be reused. Nozzle lines are for single use only and should be replaced each time the pin is released.
The injector is attached to the camshaft cover with a support clip and bolt. A loose fit pin in the camshaft cover serves as the attachment point for the opposite end of the injector support clamp.
NOTE: When removing the camshaft cover and injectors, care must be taken to avoid inadvertent damage to the injector support clamp pin.
