The fuel manifold is made from forged steel and is bolted to the cylinder head, from above along the exhaust camshaft. The fuel manifold collects pressurized fuel supplied by the high pressure fuel pump and delivers fuel to the fuel injectors.
Fuel rail pressure is controlled by a pressure control valve (PCV), which is located on the fuel rail on the fuel pump side and is controlled by the ECM. The fuel pressure sensor, located at the opposite end of the fuel rail, sends the actual fuel pressure to the ECM. For more information, see the chapter:
