The exhaust manifold is attached to the right side of the cylinder head with a gasket and 9 fasteners. Spacers mounted on the fasteners allow expansion and contraction of the manifold while maintaining clamping loads.

On the manifold there is a pipe compressor with an adjustable nozzle apparatus (VGT) and a port for the EGR gas transfer tube. Above the exhaust manifold and VGT, a heat shield is installed on four mounting elements to protect other elements and prevent accidental contact with hot elements of the exhaust system.

The electronically controlled VGT is attached to the exhaust manifold outlet flange with three bolts. For more information, see the chapter:
