Removal and installation of a radiator (Freelander 2)

Removing

All vehicles

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

2. Remove the motor and cooling fan shroud. Refer to Procedure: Cooling Fan (303-03B Engine cooling - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the bumper mount. Refer to Procedure: Front Bumper (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and installation).

4. Remove the charge air cooler. Refer to Procedure: Aftercooler (303-12B Intake air distribution and filtration - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).





Automatic vehicles

Installation

All vehicles







1. Install the rubber feet.

2. Install the heatsink carefully.

3. Install supports and tighten bolts. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

Automatic vehicles

4. Install the automatic transmission fluid heat exchanger. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

5. Connect and secure the coolant hose.


All vehicles

6. Connect a hose of a broad tank to a radiator.

7. Connect the A/C capacitor to the heatsink. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

8. Install the charge air cooler. Refer to Procedure: Aftercooler (303-12B Intake air distribution and filtration - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).

9. Install the bumper mount. Refer to Procedure: Front Bumper (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and installation).

10. Install the motor and cooling fan shroud. Refer to Procedure: Cooling Fan (303-03B Engine cooling - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).
