The main requirement for the cooling system of the TD4 diesel engine is to regulate the operating temperature of the engine, maintaining it in the optimal range under any climatic and operating conditions. Additional functions of the cooling system - to provide cooling for the EGR system, engine lubrication system and transmission lubrication system (only variants with automatic transmission).
The pipes and hoses of the cooling system have quick-release couplings for easy access when servicing the system.
On vehicles destined for cold climate markets, the cooling system has been modified to include a fuel-fired auxiliary heater, (FFBH) and an additional coolant pump. FFBH provides additional heating for the vehicle interior.
For more information, see chapter: Auxiliary Fuel Heater (412-02 Additional climate control, Description and principle of operation).
