Transmission Control Module (TCM) (Freelander 2)

Removing

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

2. Remove the cover and disconnect the ground wire from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).

3. Remove the air filter assembly. Refer to Procedure: Air Filter (303-12A Intake air distribution and filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).

4. Release and disconnect a cable of the selector lever.



5. Remove the gear selector lever.



6. Remove the transmission control module (TCM).

Installation

1. Install TCM. Tightening torque: 24 Nm

2. Install the gear selector lever. Tightening torque: 13 Nm

3. Fasten and connect the selector lever cable.

4. Install the air filter assembly. Refer to Procedure: Air Filter (303-12A Intake air distribution and filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).

5. Connect a wire of weight to the accumulator. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).

6. If a new item has been installed, configure using Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
