Road test (Freelander 2)

CAUTION: At the end of the road test, check the operation of the brake while driving at low speed before completing the test. If braking occurs to one side or if there is another manifestation of the problem, do not continue the road test until the problem has been identified and corrected.

• The parking brake is fully released.
• Gear shifting is smooth and there are no unusual noises or vibrations from the transmission side.
• Engine power is satisfactory, its maximum value is reached, acceleration is smooth, the accelerator pedal is not hard, and the engine returns to idle correctly.
• There is no excessive smoke or smoke of an abnormal color during normal driving, heavy duty operation or under engine braking.
• The steering is smooth, precise, not too heavy and without excessive play or vibration. There is no pull to the side, and when exiting the turn, the steering wheel smoothly returns to its original position.
• All devices are in good working order, their readings are accurate.
• The switches and controls operate smoothly and precisely, the indicator lamps and indicators work correctly, and the turn signal control lever automatically returns to its original position when the steering is returned to its original position.
• Heating and ventilation systems work properly and efficiently.
• The braking system works effectively.
