Locking devices (Freelander 2)

Always replace locking devices with identical designs and sizes.

Lock washers with folding. When reassembling, always replace the flap washers with new ones. Do not reuse these lock washers.

lock nuts. Always use two wrenches when loosening or tightening lock nuts, brake nuts and fuel pipes.

Cylindrical pins. When replacing the pin, the new pin must be matched to the diameter of the mating hole in the part.

Retaining rings. When installing new circlips, match them to the groove size.

Keys and keyways. The key is suitable for reinstallation only if it does not show signs of wear and deformation. Clean the edges of the keyway from burrs with a file with a fine notch.

pins. Never try to straighten the cotter pin and reuse it. Make sure the new cotter pins are the right size for the hole they are to be installed in.
