Brake system
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
- Check the front pad wear.
- Check the rear pads for wear.
- Check for brake fluid leaks from the calipers.
- Check the condition of the brake discs.
- Check the condition of all tubes of the brake booster and the brake system for abrasions and leaks.
- Clean the wheel hub studs and apply grease (Part No. Land Rover RYL 105020) seating surface of each hub.
Brake Fluid Replacement
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 2 years or 48,000 km.
Change the brake fluid.
Wheel speed sensors
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
Inspect the wheel speed sensor harness for damage.
Engine oil and oil filter
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
Change engine oil and oil filter.
Air filter
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 12 months or 24,000 km.
Replace the air filter element. For more information, see the chapter: Air filter (303-12A Intake air distribution and filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).
Accessory drive belt
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 5 years or 120,000 km.
Replace the accessory drive belt. For more information, see chapter: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05A Accessory drive - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).
Radiator and cooling fan
CAUTION: If the vehicle is used in severe conditions, the following operations must be carried out.
Visually inspect the radiator for external obstructions, check the fan impeller for damage.
Continuous operation in difficult off-road conditions
CAUTION: After 80 km of continuous driving in difficult off-road conditions, such as driving through water obstacles, driving through deep mud, sharp gravel or slush, the following should be cleaned and checked.
- Parking brake.
- Auxiliary drive belt.
- More frequent air filter maintenance required.
Additional conditions that may require attention
Every 6 years: It is recommended that all brake system hydraulic seals be replaced.
NOTE: This operation is in addition to the MANDATORY replacement of all flexible brake hoses at the end of the appropriate maintenance interval.
