CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, see the appropriate section.
1. Check the front pad wear. For more information, please refer to the chapter: Specifications (206-03 Front Disc Brake Specifications).
2. Check the rear pads for wear. For more information, please refer to the chapter: Specifications (206-04 Rear Disc Brake Specifications).
3. Check for brake fluid leaks from the calipers.
Front brakes:

4. Check the condition of the brake discs.
5. Check the condition of all tubes of the brake booster and the brake system for abrasions and leaks.
6. Clean the wheel hub studs and apply grease (Part No. Land Rover RYL 105020) seating surface of each hub.
7. Every 3 years: Change the brake fluid. For more information, refer to the chapter: Bleeding the brake system (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).
8. Every 6 years: Replace all brake hoses.
9. Vehicles with tires with unidirectional tread pattern: install the wheels on the appropriate hubs, making sure that the wheel is in the same position in relation to the hub as before.
10. Vehicles with tires that do NOT have a unidirectional tread pattern: Install the wheels on the opposite side of the vehicle, making sure they remain on the same axle.
11. Install and tighten wheel nuts (tightening torque 133 Nm).
Parking brake
With the vehicle stationary, apply the parking brake and check for correct operation. For more information, see chapter: Parking brake cable adjustment (206-05 Parking Brake and Parking Brake Actuator, General Procedures).
