Raising the rear of the car (Freelander 2)

Since there is no central jacking point at the rear of the vehicle, it is not possible to raise both sides at the same time.

WARNING: When raising the front of the vehicle, always fit wheel chocks under the front wheels.

Apply the parking brake. Move the automatic transmission selector to the 'P' - Park position. Move the manual transmission lever to the 'N' - Neutral position (neutral gear).



Install the jacking pad under the rear jacking point located on the rear differential support bracket, pos. 3.

After raising the vehicle to the desired height, place the jack stands as shown in the figure and carefully lower the jack until the vehicle rests on the jack stands (supports), pos. 1 or 2.

WARNING: Do not start work from below a jacked up vehicle unless axle stands have been installed in the places provided.

CAUTION: Place a suitable block under the body to prevent damage.

To remove the vehicle from the stands, follow these steps in reverse order.
