Inspection and verification (Freelander 2)

CAUTION: Diagnosis by substituting a component from another vehicle is NOT allowed. The substitution of control units does not guarantee confirmation of the fault and, moreover, may cause additional faults in the tested vehicle and/or in the vehicle from which the units are removed.

1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

Horn switches Movable Contact Group/Steering Angle Sensor Sound signals	Fuses/relays (refer to electrical manual) Wiring harness Correct connection of electrical connectors Loose or corroded connections Central fuse box (CJB) Battery junction box (BJB)

2. If an obvious cause of a problem you identified or described by the customer is found, correct it before proceeding to the next steps (if possible).

3. If the cause is not visually obvious, check the CJB for DTCs and refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Index (DTC).
