Expansion valve (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The description of the removal procedure in this manual may include installation steps.

Removing

1. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).

2. Unload the refrigerant. Refer to the procedure: Recycling the refrigerant, evacuating and charging the air conditioning system (A/C) (412-00 Climate control system - General information, General procedures).

3. Remove the mixing chamber panel. Refer to Procedure: Mixing Chamber (412-01 Climate control, Removal and installation).

4. Tightening torque: 9 Nm

Plug all openings. Use new plugs. Lubricate the new seals with clean compressor oil.

5. Tightening torque: 4 Nm

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
