The CJB receives input from the four door latch switches and the tailgate opener motor to control the interior lighting system. In addition, the system interacts with the central locking system and turns on the interior lamps and mirror lamps when an unlock request is received. This request is received by the CJB from the RF (RF) receiver.
The front and rear ceiling-mounted interior lamps are equipped with a 3-position switch. Auto ("Comfortable") the operating mode can be canceled by moving the switch to the position "Permanently on" or "permanently off".
If comfort mode is active and one of the body panels remains open, the CJB turns off all interior lights after 15 minutes. If the interior lamps were initiated by the driver, the CJB will turn off the lamps after 30 minutes.
Press the light symbol on the remote control to activate the comfort lighting function. When this function is activated, the CJB turns on the lamps built into the mirrors and a number of exterior lamps. For more information, see the chapter: Outdoor Lighting (417-01 Outdoor lighting, Description and principle of operation).
On vehicles from model year 2009, two reading lamps are integrated in the front interior dome light. The front dome light is equipped with two additional switches that control each lamp and operate independently of the interior light functions.
Transport mode
All new cars shipped from the manufacturer are in transport mode. Transport mode disables a number of electrical systems and functions, including interior lighting, to prevent battery static discharge while in transit. When the vehicle is in transport mode, 'transp' appears on the instrument cluster odometer.
To cancel the transport mode, you must connect a Land Rover approved diagnostic system to the vehicle during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI). See the PDI manual for more information.
