Priority group 1
This group combines messages about changes in vehicle systems that have a direct impact on its handling and traffic safety. An example would be the message 'ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT' (engine system malfunction). Such messages require urgent and immediate response from the driver. Group 1 messages are accompanied by a flashing of the corresponding control lamp and a continuous sound signal coming from the instrument panel. If several vehicle systems generate group 1 messages at the same time, these messages appear on the display in turn (each for 3 seconds), and then this sequence is cyclically repeated.
Priority group 2
The second group contains messages about changes in vehicle systems that do not pose an immediate threat to safety and do not indicate a deterioration in performance, for example, 'CHECK BRAKE PADS' (check brake pads). The driver must heed these messages and eliminate the cause of them as soon as possible. Each of these messages is displayed once when power mode 6 is entered or when a fault occurs for a pre-set amount of time. The message can be called up on the screen by the driver if he keeps the odometer reset button pressed for at least three seconds.
Priority group 3
Messages in this group, for example 'LOW WASHER FLUID' (low fluid level in the washer reservoir), have low priority. Some of these messages may only appear on the display at the end of a trip so as not to distract the driver while driving. The driver can find out about the existence of such messages by means of a sound signal when the ignition is switched off.
